Departments

Each department has one staff member and anywhere between 1-5 students. Students include people with a learning disability and others in need of support. We also have volunteers who help out in these departments.

  Nursery

  The Nursery Department mainly work in our two large greenhouses and two large Poly-tunnels and are responsible for growing our plants which are then sold in our plant centre, planted out by the garden maintenance team in customer's garden and bought by local landscape firms. These plants are mainly produced on site from plugs, seed sowing, cutting and divisions. Plants include vegetables, herbs, annuals and small shrubs, fruit trees and perennials.

  Plant Centre/Shop

  Our Plant centre is where we welcome most of our visitors, whatever the season the shop is always full, we sell a full range of plants, topsoil, mulch, manure and composts, seasonal items are also sold, such as Christmas trees and wreaths. Because most of our stock is grown on site we can offer you high quality plants at grower's prices giving you, the gardener, real value for money

  Compost & Recycling Team

  Compost and Recycling Team, who compost garden waste and do recycling projects as well as deliver products to our customers in our van and tipping trailer.

  We offer a great deal for gardeners at Piccadilly, and one of our more popular services is home deliveries. We deliver grade A topsoil, rotted horse manure, mulch and logs by the trailer load. The Trailer is a motor operated tipper and is very handy for this work. The Composting team have in the past been responsible for Piccadillys Garden waste collection and composting project, but recently this project has undergone some revision, and looks set to restart in 2009 with a scaled down composting project that will set up a market garden on site, growing Soft fruits and Vegetables.

  Garden Maintenance Team

  From mowing lawns to painting fences, the garden maintenance team spend most of their time off site looking after customers Garden. We are always happy to discuss any ideas you have for your garden, and offer very competitive rates, so give us a ring if your garden is getting out of control and you need a hand.

  Example of things we do: Lawn mowing, hedge trimming, plant maintenance, paintings
